Schafer has single handedly written some of the best dialogue and scenarios in video games. Whatever you think of Tim Schafer as a person, and there are widely ranging views on this, or as an expert on financial matters, there is no denying his writing chops. He travels to the ends of the Earth to find out what happened to Mercedes Colomar one of the few good souls left. He senses something is wrong when he notices all the good souls are gone. He must sell tickets to good souls in order to gain redemption and earn his own.
It tells the tale of Manny, a lost soul trying to pass to the other side. It’s often on sale costing just a few dollars and it is one of the Vita’s great stories.įor those of you who haven’t played the original Grim Fandango, it’s a 90s point and click adventure written by Tim Schafer, one of the minds behind Monkey Island and Psychonauts. The touchscreen controls for movement fit the Vita perfectly making it the preferred control scheme.
Even though I played with all these bugs, I still saw Grim Fandango Remastered’s value on the Vita. I can’t check as my copy was redeemed on an old account, but I have heard these are greatly improved now. Frequent freezing lead to a lot of lost save data and game breaking bugs were common. Grim Fandango Remastered’s initial release on the Vita was troubled to say the least.
